It’s been a massive weekend across the club, from clinical cup victories to the dawn of a new generation in the senior ranks. Here is the breakdown of the action from our senior sides:
Men’s 1st XI: Clinical in the Cup
The 1st XI traveled to Redbridge for the 2nd Round of the Dukes Plate and returned with a statement win. After electing to bat, a shaky start saw us five wickets down early, but a resilient, high-quality partnership between Mo (58) and Ejaz (41) stabilized the innings to reach a competitive 184. That total proved insurmountable for the hosts; Pratek and Fazal were absolutely lethal with the ball, tearing through the Redbridge lineup with 4 wickets apiece. A professional, comfortable win to keep the early-season momentum rolling.

Men’s 3rd XI: A Tale of Two Innings
It was a high-scoring but indifferent day for the 3s in their final friendly against a strong Ilford side. We posted a formidable 298/9, powered by excellent half-centuries from Rohit and Owais, with solid support from Shoaib, Ayman, and Fiaz. While we looked on course for 350, a back injury to Rohit slowed our progress. Unfortunately, our defense didn't match our batting; the bowling was offline and the fielding uncharacteristically poor. Despite a late 4-wicket burst from Armaan, Ilford chased it down comfortably. A clear reminder of the levels we need to hit as the season begins.

Men’s 4th XI: The Future is Now
In a weekend that truly defined the "Frenford Way," the 4th XI handed senior debuts to seven incredible young prospects. Coaches Rob and Imtiaz led by stepping back, allowing the next generation to take center stage. The youth-heavy side showed immense maturity, staying clinical in the field before effortlessly chasing down a target of 155. With Mo Faheem and Taseen both hitting 44, and all-round brilliance from Ayaan and Isa C, the talent on display was impeccable. The future of the club is in very safe hands.

Women’s 1st XI: Dominance at Jack Carter
The Women’s 1st XI delivered a masterclass at home, securing a massive 180-run victory over Kelvedon & Feering. Batting first, we piled on a huge 283/7, anchored by a superb 83 from Jasmine Asmal, with great support from Fatima (52) and Stefania (40). The pressure didn't stop there; our bowling attack was relentless, skittling the visitors for 103. Sana Chaudhry was the star with the ball, taking 4/11, while Georgie and Afsheen kept the heat on with two wickets each. A comprehensive team performance from start to finish.
