1ST XI – MO' AMIN (CAPTAIN)
Frenford 1st XI earned a hard-fought home winning draw , collecting 12 valuable league points after pushing their opponents all the way to the final stages of the match.
Losing regular early wickets, the 1s regrouped to post a competitive total. Frenford knew they would need to take wickets regularly to force a result. The bowlers responded superbly, maintaining relentless pressure throughout the innings and reducing the opposition to nine wickets down. Every breakthrough increased the belief around the side, with victory appearing within touching distance as the game entered its closing stages.
Despite Frenford's efforts, the final wicket partnership held firm under intense pressure and we were were unable to claim the final breakthrough before time ran out. While the win ultimately proved elusive, the performance demonstrated excellent character, discipline and determination from the entire side.
Twelve points represents a positive return and keeps the 1st XI moving in the right direction as they continue their push up the table.

2ND XI – HAMZA MAHMUD (CAPTAIN)
Frenford 2nd XI travelled to Harlow knowing they would face a strong challenge against one of the division's more established sides.
After being asked to field first, Frenford produced some outstanding bowling performances. Uwais Molvi delivered one of the highlights of the day, claiming a superb hat-trick that ripped through Harlow's top order and shifted momentum firmly towards the visitors. At the other end, Mo Rahim bowled with excellent control and consistency, finishing with four wickets from his 14 overs as Harlow were restricted to 197-9 from their allotted 50 overs.
The chase began positively, with Umair Chaudhary and Umer Imtiaz both contributing valuable innings of 42. Their partnership kept Frenford firmly in the contest and ensured the required rate remained within reach.
As wickets fell in the middle overs, Adnan Choudhry showed tremendous composure, producing an unbeaten 39 and guiding the chase deep into the closing stages. Unfortunately, despite several strong contributions throughout the batting order, Frenford were eventually bowled out for 188 in the 45th over, falling just nine runs short.
While defeat is always disappointing, there were many positives to take from the performance. The bowling unit was outstanding, the batting showed resilience, and the side competed until the very end against quality opposition.

4TH XI – ROB ROLLINS (CAPTAIN)
What an incredible game of cricket and one that perfectly demonstrated the spirit, determination and talent within this young Frenford side.
Having won the toss and elected to bowl, we faced a strong Stanford Le Hope batting line-up that posted 221/7 from their 50 overs. The standout performance with the ball came from 14-year-old Ibraheem Abulkhairi, who produced an outstanding spell of controlled spin bowling. Bowling with maturity well beyond his years, Ibraheem claimed 2 wickets for 45 runs from his 16 overs, consistently building pressure and removing key batsmen at crucial moments.
There was also a memorable senior debut from 15-year-old Bhavyameet Singh. Showing great composure and confidence, Bhavyameet delivered an excellent spell, finishing with 3 wickets for 36 runs from 12 overs. His breakthrough of Stanford's dangerous captain, who had scored 95, proved to be a major turning point in the innings.
Chasing 222 was always going to be a challenge and when we found ourselves struggling at 56/4, the game could easily have slipped away. However, 14-year-old Ayaan Azam produced a wonderfully mature innings, displaying patience, shot selection and temperament beyond his age. His superb 76 anchored the chase and provided the foundation for our success.
Ayaan was brilliantly supported by the captain, who contributed 60 runs in a vital partnership that steadied the innings and put us back in control. Even then, the game continued to swing back and forth before Frenford secured victory off the final ball of the match to complete a remarkable one-wicket win.
A fantastic advert for youth cricket and another example of this young Frenford side continuing to grow in confidence and belief.

5TH XI – RAZI SIDDIQUI (CAPTAIN)
Frenford CC 5th XI travelled away to face Old Parkonians CC and, after winning the toss, elected to bat first on a difficult pitch.
The surface offered very little bounce, making batting challenging throughout the innings. Harsh Patel batted superbly for his 40 runs, but once he was dismissed, the batting line-up struggled to build partnerships and wickets fell at regular intervals. Frenford were eventually bowled out for 133.
In response, Old Parkonians lost an early wicket, giving us a positive start with the ball. However, our overall fielding performance was below the standards we expect. We dropped too many chances and conceded too many extras, allowing the opposition to build momentum throughout the chase.
Those missed opportunities ultimately proved costly, with Old Parkonians chasing down the target to secure victory.
Overall, it was a disappointing result, but one that offers valuable lessons for a very young side. The game highlighted the importance of taking chances in the field and maintaining discipline with the ball. The youngsters will learn from this experience and come back stronger in the weeks ahead.

KESTRELS 1ST XI – FATIMA IMTIAZ (CAPTAIN)

Frenford Women’s 1st XI produced a stunning all-round performance to secure a commanding 206-run victory over Orsett & Thurrock, posting a formidable 338-1 from their 35 overs before restricting the visitors to 132-8.

KESTRELS 2ND XI – DIANA TASI (CAPTAIN)
The scorecard may suggest a difficult afternoon, but there was far more to this fixture than the final result.
Facing an experienced and established opposition, Frenford fielded one of the youngest sides in the division. For many players, this was another valuable opportunity to test themselves against senior cricketers who have spent years playing at this level.
While the opposition's experience ultimately proved decisive, there were plenty of encouraging signs throughout the match. The attitude, effort and willingness to compete never dropped, even when the game became challenging.
As Coach Rob regularly reminds the squad, "We never lose, we only learn."
That mindset remains central to the development of this young group. Every game provides valuable experience, and each challenge helps build the skills, confidence and resilience needed to become stronger cricketers in the future.
The result may not have gone our way, but the lessons learned will prove invaluable as this young side continues its development journey.
