Introducing Diana Singh - Our Inaugural Women's 2Xi Captain !

Behind every Frenford team sheet there’s a story… and usually a bit of chaos in the car on the way to an away game.

Today we catch up with Diana Singh, who has a brilliant story of moving from the boundary ropes to the middle of the pitch, to talk inspiring teammates, the importance of a good sandwich, and why she freely admits she's a terrible away-day passenger...

How did your Frenford journey begin?
“Watching my daughter play, I fell in love with cricket and I took the first opportunity to play the game as soon as a women's team was available”

Favourite Frenford cricketing moment?
“Watching Stefi scoring 4s after 4s, reaching 81 runs / watching Saif score his first 100 on a very hot day”

Best player you’ve played with at Frenford?
“Stefania, because she never gave up no matter how hard it was”

Who are you backing for…
Final over with the ball? Aminah H
Winning runs with the bat? Vicky
Driving to an away game? Hafiza

Dressing room insights…
Funniest teammate? Krisha and Haleema
Worst away-day passenger? “Probably me, I can get annoying”
Most likely to forget their kit? “Nobody in my team would do that” (Now that is proper captain's loyalty!)

Cricket teas & away days
Best tea? “All teas at Frenford are amazing, and sandwiches should always be there”
Favourite ground? Goodmayes park

One to watch at Frenford?
“Alishba, she is putting in the effort and learns a lot real quickly”

One former Frenford player you’d bring back?
Rob Rollins

Closing Diana — from proud parent on the sidelines to leading the team on the pitch, always backing her squad (and her sandwiches)

Keep an eye out for the next Meet The Captain Quickfire, as we continue to shine a light on the personalities that make Frenford Cricket Club what it is, on and off the pitch.
