Introducing Our Promotion Winning 2nd Xi Captain Aadil

Behind every Frenford team sheet there’s a story… and usually a bit of chaos in the car on the way to an away game.

Today, we catch up with 2's promotion winning Captain, Aadil, a lifelong Frenford man and one of our senior captains, to talk big run chases, dressing room characters, and the undeniable perks of being the skipper when you're running late...

How did your Frenford journey begin?
“Been associated with Frenford from when I can remember, whole family has played for Frenford , it was a no-brainer.”

Favourite Frenford cricketing moment?
“I have many, but most recently chasing 280+ at Hadleigh. It made us believe we could win the league. Last-ball thriller, and they most certainly didn't like that we won!”

Best player you’ve played with at Frenford?
“Basil Akram — if he didn't do it with the bat, he would do it with the ball!! Hated losing.”

Who are you backing for…
Final over with the ball? Adnan
Winning runs with the bat? Hamza
Driving to an away game? Zuhaib
(Smart choices… especially the last one.)

Dressing room insights…
Funniest teammate? “Yaz! Hilarious.”
Worst away-day passenger? “It's gotta be myself — always late for the toss. I get away with it as I'm skipper.”
Most likely to forget their kit? “Me! Guilty!”
(Still makes the toss… sometimes.)

Cricket teas & away days
Best tea? “Oakfield Teas, nothing will beat that!”
Favourite ground? “Castle Park, love winning there!”

One to watch at Frenford?
“Hussain — improving very quickly and will have a breakthrough season.”

One former Frenford player you’d bring back?
Basil Akram

Aadil, lifelong Frenford, serial late arrival, and a skipper who knows how to pull off a 280+ chase!
