Honours Board | A Week to Remember for Frenford Cricket Club

It has been another remarkable week for Frenford Cricket Club, with outstanding individual performances across both our senior and junior sections. What stands out most is not simply the number of milestones achieved, but the depth of talent progressing through our youth pathway. Week after week our young cricketers continue to make significant contributions in both junior competitions and senior league cricket, demonstrating the strength of the club's long-term player development.

Leading this week's Honours Board is experienced 3rd XI all-rounder Atif Malik, whose superb spell of 5 wickets for 41 runs from 9.2 overs, including a maiden, laid the platform for an excellent victory over Orsett & Thurrock CC. Atif's control, consistency and experience proved invaluable, earning him another place in the FCC 5-Fer Club and once again showing the influence our senior players continue to have on developing younger teammates around them.

In the same match, Rohit Puthawala produced another innings of real class, compiling a match-winning 102 against Orsett & Thurrock CC. It was another composed century from one of the club's most reliable run scorers and sees Rohit return to the FCC Hundred Club once again. Even more impressively, it marks his fourth consecutive season reaching three figures for Frenford CC, an outstanding achievement that reflects his remarkable consistency year after year.

The future of the club was equally well represented by our younger players. U15 batter Rome Bopara announced himself in spectacular fashion with a superb 104 from 116 deliveries against Orsett & Thurrock CC. His mature innings, featuring 16 boundaries, demonstrated patience, shot selection and temperament well beyond his years as he recorded his maiden FCC century and became the newest member of the Hundred Club.

In the Kestrels section, Krisha Shah delivered one of the bowling performances of the weekend. Her exceptional figures of 5 wickets for just 7 runs from 3.3 overs, including a maiden, dismantled Kelvedon & Feering CC and secured her place in the FCC 5-Fer Club. It was a spell built on accuracy, discipline and intelligent bowling that underlined the exciting progress being made within our girls' pathway.

The runs continued to flow in the U19 Ravi Bopara Cup, where Hasnain Akram produced a breathtaking display of attacking batting against Chingford CC. His explosive 114 from just 58 balls, including 12 fours and 7 sixes, earned his first entry into the FCC Hundred Club. It was an innings full of confidence and power that demonstrated exactly why the club has such belief in its emerging young players.

Another familiar name on the Honours Board is Aradhya Mukerjee, who continues to set the standard behind the stumps and with the bat. His superb century against Newham CC in the U16 Matchplay Trophy means he enters the FCC Hundred Club for the second successive season. Scoring 100 from 74 balls, including 17 fours and a six, Aradhya once again showed the composure and consistency that have become hallmarks of his batting.

Not to be outdone, Ayaan Azam also reached three figures in the same U16 Matchplay fixture, blasting 103 from just 74 deliveries. His innings contained 15 boundaries and 4 sixes, earning his second century of the season and another place in the FCC Hundred Club. The confidence and positive intent shown by Ayaan continues to make him one of the most exciting young batters in the club.

Completing this week's Honours Board is U15 Spin Prince Ibrahim Mir, whose outstanding spell of 5 wickets for 21 runs from 6 overs, including a maiden, helped secure victory over Newham CC. His disciplined bowling, relentless accuracy and ability to take wickets at crucial moments earned him a deserved place in the FCC 5-Fer Club and rounded off another exceptional weekend for our youth section.

The performances celebrated this week perfectly illustrate what makes Frenford Cricket Club so special. Our experienced senior players continue to lead by example, while an exciting generation of young cricketers are already making decisive contributions across every level of the club. From senior league victories to junior cup competitions, the pathway is thriving, the talent is evident, and the future of Frenford Cricket Club has never looked brighter.
