Frenford Cricket Club Junior Residential Tour 2026

Frenford Cricket Club Junior Residential Tour 2026

David Pike3 Jun - 12:38

Over 50 Years of Adventure. A New Chapter Begins.

For more than half a century, the Frenford Cricket Club Junior Residential Tour has been one of the most important traditions in our club's history.

Generations of young Frenford cricketers have travelled away from home, built lifelong friendships, developed confidence, learned independence and returned with memories that stay with them forever. For 50 consecutive years, that journey has taken place at Woodrow High House and has become a defining experience for countless members of our club.

In 2026, we begin an exciting new chapter.

We are delighted to announce that this year's Junior Residential Tour will take place at the Lodge Hill Centre, Watersfield, West Sussex, from Monday 17th August to Wednesday 19th August 2026.

While the venue may be changing, the values and traditions that have made the residential such a special part of Frenford Cricket Club remain exactly the same.

This tour has always been about much more than cricket.

Over three action-packed days, our young members will take part in outdoor activities, team-building challenges, leadership exercises and confidence-building experiences, all within the stunning surroundings of the South Downs National Park. Alongside these activities, cricket will remain at the heart of the trip, with training sessions, games and opportunities to play against local opposition in some of Sussex's most picturesque settings.

The residential is designed to help young people develop skills that extend far beyond the boundary rope. Communication, resilience, teamwork, independence, problem-solving and leadership are all central to the Frenford experience and have been for generations.

The tour is open to players currently in School Years 7, 8 and 9.

As always, Frenford Cricket Club remains committed to ensuring the trip is accessible to as many young members as possible. The actual cost of the residential exceeds £450 per child, however the club will once again heavily subsidise the tour, reducing the cost to families to just £130 per player.

To help spread the cost, payments can be made in instalments:

* £50 deposit to secure your place
* £40 second instalment
* £40 final instalment

Bookings can be made through the Tour Section of the Club Shop.

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

For many young people, the Junior Residential Tour becomes one of their favourite memories of their time at Frenford Cricket Club. It is an opportunity to make new friends, strengthen existing friendships, challenge themselves, experience new environments and create memories that will last a lifetime.

As we celebrate 50 years of Junior Residential Tours, we look forward to beginning this exciting new chapter together.

We encourage all eligible players and parents to consider joining us for what promises to be another unforgettable Frenford adventure.
