It has been some season for Fatima Imtiaz.
At Frenford, Fatima has been at the heart of an outstanding campaign for the Senior Kestrels, returning to the captain’s chair and leading the 1st XI to the EWPL Division 2 title.
The championship was secured with a memorable victory over neighbours Wanstead & Snaresbrook — a fitting reward for a side that has shown consistency, ambition and togetherness throughout the season.
Individually, Fatima has produced some extraordinary performances along the way, none more striking than her remarkable 204 not out from just 114 balls against Orsett & Thurrock, including 35 fours and two sixes.
And now, the county recognition.
On Sunday 6 September at the Cloud FM County Ground, Fatima was named Essex County Cricket U16 Batter of the Year — recognition of her performances and continued development at county level.
From leading her club side to a league championship, producing match-defining innings in the Kestrels colours, and earning recognition as one of Essex's outstanding young batters, 2026 has been a season of significant milestones.
For Fatima, though, this feels less like an arrival and more like another step.
( And the hard work hasn't stopped , in fact Fatima has doubled down and already back in the nets with Coach Rob )
Congratulations, Fatima. A fantastic achievement for both player and captain — and one that the whole of Frenford can be proud of.
