As the 2026 summer season has closed, the winter leagues kick in and our training nights do not stop.
With the outdoor season now behind us, we’re moving into our 2026/27 autumn and winter programme, with a full schedule of indoor sessions designed to keep our members active, developing and connected throughout the winter months.
The timetable has been structured around our different age groups and pathways, while continuing to provide plenty of opportunity for players to train together, develop their skills and enjoy being part of Frenford.
A pathway for every player
At the heart of the winter programme is the same principle that underpins Frenford Cricket Club throughout the year: developing the whole club.
Alongside our player pathway sessions, we continue to offer open community sessions across the junior age groups. These sessions are designed to keep cricket accessible and enjoyable while giving players the opportunity to develop across all areas of the game.
The programme now runs from the youngest members of our junior section through to our senior players, with U16 being the upper age range for the junior programme.
Wednesdays — Junior Development
Wednesday evenings begin with our youngest players, before moving into junior development for the U9–U11 age group.
The 6:30pm session provides a broader development environment, incorporating batting, bowling, hardball cricket, fielding and movement.
Thursdays — Developing the Next Generation
Thursday is focused on our older junior players.
The 5:30pm U13–U15 development session continues the all-round approach, with batting, bowling, fielding and movement forming the core of the session.
At 6:30pm, the U13–U16 Player Senior Pathway provides an additional invite-only environment for players progressing towards senior cricket, with the pathway aimed towards players developing into the 1st XI / 2nd XI and above.
Fridays — Kestrels & Senior Cricket
Friday evenings are dedicated to our girls’ and senior sections.
The evening begins with the Kestrels / Community Girls Only session, followed by dedicated training for the Senior Kestrels 1st and 2nd XIs.
The evening then finishes with our senior session, open to players aged 13+ who played senior cricket during the 2026 season.
Sundays — Community Cricket
Sunday mornings remain an important part of our community programme, providing three age-group sessions covering U6 through to U16.
These sessions give players the opportunity to train, play and develop alongside their peers in a relaxed and inclusive Frenford environment.
Keep playing. Keep developing. Keep connected.
Winter cricket is about more than simply keeping a bat and ball in your hand.
It is an opportunity to work on technique, develop new skills, build confidence and prepare for the season ahead — while continuing to enjoy the friendships and team environment that make Frenford what it is.
We encourage all members to look through the attached timetable and find the sessions that are right for them.
Whether you're already established within one of our playing pathways or simply want to keep playing cricket through the winter, there is a place for you at Frenford.
The 2026/27 indoor programme is ready.
